  • Dr. Riyaz Bashir

    Dr. Bashir is a Professor of Medicine at Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia and is the inventor of the Bashir Endovascular Catheter. While maintaining his full medical and academic responsibilities at the Temple University and Temple University Hospital System, Dr. Bashir serves in an ex-officio Chief Medical Consultant role for Thrombolex, a medical device company he co-founded. Dr. Bashir shares the product design creation responsibilities with Mr. Green. He attended medical school at the University of Kashmir, Government Medical College, Srinagar, India. His training includes internal medicine, University of Kashmir, S.M.H.S. Hospital and Nassau University Medical Center, SUNY at Stony Brook.

  • Shazma Matin

    Shazma Matin has lived in Houston since 1995 with her husband, Arshad, and three daughters. An immigrant from India, Shazma, spent her childhood traveling with her parents who were diplomats. She is an Advisory Board member of Daya, a non-profit that works with South Asian survivors of domestic violence; a member of the Arts of the Islamic World Subcommittee at MFAH; and Co-chair of the Muslim Series at Asia Society. Shazma enjoys traveling, photography, gardening, and spending time with family and friends over a hearty meal!

  • Sheba Hafiz, P.E.

    Sheba Hafiz, P.E. based in San Francisco, is a Principal at Arup, a leading global infrastructure design and consulting firm. She brings more than twenty years of experience in water and wastewater resource planning and engineering. Her work entails design and planning for the growing water challenges on the US West Coast. Sheba’s experience in water, wastewater and recycled water at other leading firms, including AECOM, has given her a unique vantage into the issues plaguing most of the developing regions for potable water and wastewater treatment infrastructure. Sheba has a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Jamia Milia University and Masters of Science in Environmental Engineering from Arizona State University.

  • Humaira Fazili

    Humaira Fazili is a Houston based entrepreneur and small business owner. She has a passion for handcrafted products, and sources and sells ethically made products that empower artisans. She is the Founder of ESTETA, a curated online retailer that sources sustainably across the globe for limited production items and high quality craftsmanship. Humaira earned her Bachelor’s degree from Lady Shri Ram College, and Master’s in Sociology from the Delhi School of Economics. She also has a Master’s in New Media and Society from the London School of Economics. She has supported initiatives for equity and diversity, and is an advocate for mental health and wellness. She enjoys spending time with family, traveling, cooking, and reading.

  • Murad Pandit

    Murad Pandit, based in Washington DC, is the Director of Strategic Initiatives for Terra Site Constructors, a Virginia based infrastructure construction company and Federal contractor. He has had a 25-year career on the buy-side in various asset classes, as an owner-developer in real estate, shareholder-manager in private equity as well as an analyst-fund manager for equity securities.

    Murad has an undergraduate degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering from Virginia Tech with Magna Cum Laude and an MBA from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania with a dual major in Entrepreneurial Management & Marketing. Murad served as the Founder & former Chairman of the Board of Advisors for Bristow Montessori School, Advisory Board Member of Ascent Group in Kashmir, India, and former Board Member for the MCC Medical Clinic, Silver Spring, MD. Murad has also served in an advisory capacity to HELP Foundation J&K for the past 10 years.
