Vyessetuon Women’s Health Project
A franchise program to provide biodegradable sanitary napkins through five strategically selected centers to girls and women throughout Kashmir Valley was started in April 2023. Girls under 18 years of age are provided free sanitary napkins through schools, while women over 18 are provided subsidized prices to encourage continual use through neighborhood female social workers. Educational seminars, partnership with other local organizations, brochures and online engagement supplement the program. The goal of the program is to incentivize women to own franchises that generate income, while also promoting cost effective, sustainable and wide reach for female healthcare needs within each community. This franchisee distribution channel provides follow on investment opportunities for continuous gynecological care, pre and postpartum education and healthcare, as well as addressing hygiene, nutrition and development for infants. The pilot program at five locations will provide a platform for encompassing lessons learned and scaling the program for impact.
